Self-ful

Give a bit of self-love to yourself

With the studio freedom to conceptualise any product or service, I create a platform to help people to practice self-care and balance their wellbeing. Like a human identity, with a voice, personality, interests and a set of values - aspects of myself have been conveyed through the initial creation of this brand.

It’s for those who want to take better care for themselves, experiencing low mental health, those who hold a busy life, experiencing stressful situations, and those trying to self-improve.We’ve all been there, right?

Being on the go, and putting time into commitments, Self-care is something that I struggle with inputting my needs first and to take care of myself. I need to properly give myself the space I need. What does self-care entail? Well, it can be what it is to you. It’s different for everyone. It can even be simple. From going out fora walk, your hobbies, having a cup of tea, exercise, listening to music, etc. These things can help us maintain our lives with good habits.

My lecturer, Neale Skalberg, said we should “live and breathe” the brands we design for – you bet this project was a good way to remind me and keep on top of my self-care here and there with taking small breaks and building the habit. Keeping a balance in my life is something I am still working on and learning, that I will continue to navigate life around.

Here I try to embody a balance of productivity and rest, in a simplistic style yet calm, bright and pleasant to stay present in an active atmosphere. Teaching me to be well…Self-ful

Retrospective

Believe in Yourself

As a designer you have the responsibility to show the world who you are - control how the public perceives a brand within the showcase and execution. You initially, define it and create it. We have the capabilities in ourselves, and it’s up to you to find it in yourself and embrace it.

Use Your Voice

As a young designer, because of our lack of experience, we get underestimated. It takes a bit of courage, to trust myself and communicate. I have learned to increase my confidence at storytelling and presenting my ideas through what works for me in practicing.Brands are an important stakeholder in influencing people.

You’re Worth it.

As designers, our work gets judged all the time. To understand that it’s not criticising me, but the outcome of the work I produced. But because this project was in some way expressing ourselves, I am still learning to not take things personally, but rather take it into consideration. Trying to let it not affect how I view myself and sense of value. It takes acceptance.
